History tells us of dragons through paintings, carvings, and literature. Dragons are the fiercest creatures ever thought to exist. They had huge scales and long, sharp teeth and claws. Many had wings and could breathe fire. The legend of the dragon is nearly as old as time itself. Dragons are said to have been very magical and could change their shape and size. They were thought to horde gold and treasure and live for thousands of years. Knights wanting to prove their faith in Christianity would venture out seeking the wondrous dragons and not returning until they had killed one. Thus, in a short time, this marked the end of dragon kind. Hhhmmmm, or did it? Maybe they just vanished in an awesome display of magical light????

The winged horse Pegasus was a mystical, mythical, and magical creature. He was a white horse with white and golden wings. He also had the ability to fly. Pegasus was the winged horse from Greek mythology that sprang from Medusa's neck when Perseus killed her. Pegasus was graceful, beautiful, wise, and gentle. This mythical creature was captured by the poet Bellerophon with a magic golden bridle and presented as a wedding gift to Athena, the Goddess of Wisdom. In modern times Pegasus is a symbol of immortality for the soul. Pegasus is the carrier and protector that gaurds the spirt in the journey to the stars. Pegasi (the plural of Pegasus) are a symbol of inspiration and beauty in our lives and in the lives of others.

Was Merlin a magician? or sorcerer?
|
Merlin was a magician, prophet, and advisor active in all phases of the management of Arthur's kingdom. He became very popular in the Middle Ages by prophesizing great political struggles leading to a hopeless decline in England and throughout the world. Merlin was responsible for placing stones around a mass grave of British nobles at a place we now call Stonehenge. His life seemingly ended in madness. It's noted in the legend of King Arthur that Merlin was able to change into a dragon whenever he wanted to. It's known that some dragons had the ability to shapeshift. Maybe Merlin was actually a dragon???
